Church Activities Bethesda Backpackers
Bethesda Backpacker Group on Red Hat Walk 2007 Bethesda Backpackers is a walking group open to all church members, their families and friends; we usually meet on a different day each week. Walks cover 5-8 miles and are normally circular so that we end up where we started for ease of transport. A car-sharing system operates to encourage the group to be "environmentally-friendly" and to provide transport for those without cars. The walks are easily paced to allow for the slowest walker and incorporate a picnic or a pub lunch. Under the leadership of Bob Parkin, the group was launched several years ago and started by walking the 110 mile Cotswold Way - though not all in one go! Since then we have continued walking regularly throughout Gloucestershire and new routes are sometimes devised by members. A quarterly programme provides walk dates, locations and lengths in advance, and there is a yearly summer barbecue which enables family members who don't usually walk to meet and enjoy a summer evening together. If you would like to join us, please contact Bob Parkin on 01242 222759
