Bethesda Luncheon Club - Christmas Party

Tuesday lunch time, 12:30 Church Hall

The Bethesda Luncheon Club has been running for many years, providing lunch on a Tuesday for up to thirty people. The meals are cooked and served by a team of about fourteen volunteers. Members are mainly elderly and most live alone so they appreciate the company of other people and a good cooked meal. Some folk remain after lunch for the afternoon Welcome Club (see below). Social Services occasionally asks us to take someone in, which we can usually manage to do. We can provide limited transport, but most people arrange their own. Special events include an outing in the Summer and Christmas Dinner in December.

Bethesda Welcome Club

Tuesday afternoon, 2:30 Church Hall

The Bethesda Welcome Club is for older men and women and meets every Tuesday afternoon (except in August) in the hall at the rear of the Church. The aim of the club is to give elderly and lonely people a couple of hours of entertainment and, more importantly, companionship with the vital addition of tea and biscuits. It is well attended but always looking for more people to come along to make the community brighter and more diverse. Come and see for yourself and bring your friends.

Saturday morning 10:30am - 12 noon

The Saturday coffee shop started many years ago to raise money when Bethesda was undergoing outside repair work. The profit now supports local charities for 6 months at a time, including Winston's Wish - a bereavement service for young children and The Willow Trust - a group of volunteers who take elderly/disabled people on canal trips. Please call in on a Saturday morning from 10.30am - 12 and you will most certainly receive a warm welcome.
