Scouts & Guides

Bethesda Church is home to several uniformed organisation's who meet in the Church hall during the week. The Cubs, Scouts, Brownies and the Guides all meet at Bethesda and regularly join in parade services where their flags are brought to the church.

The Scouts

Gary Law is the current Leader of the 45th Cheltenham Scout Troop which meets here at Bethesda.

The Guides

The Guide Unit belongs to the Guide Association, its activities are varied and depend very much on the time of year. Activities are planned at the beginning of each term and include games, crafts ("making a mess"!) camping (especially the Malvern Challenge), sleep-overs, cooking (and eating!), archery, climbing, grass-sle
dging, hiking, trips and parties. The Guides also work at various badges and in their patrols (groups of girls) work at a particular topic where they can gain a 'Go For It!'

The main aim is to allow the guides to try a variety of activities which enables them to work together as well as improve their skills - especially the more challenging activities - in keeping with the Guiding philosophy, the Guide Promise and the Guide Law.
