All Saints House Group
The group was established over ten years
ago and met regularly at the house of Chris Lammiman, the leader,
in All
Saints Road, hence the name. It now meets in different members
homes on a rota arranged by the group administrator, Bernard
Stradling. At present there are fourteen members. The group was originally
set up to discuss challenging and controversial issues which
confront Christians and it continues to follow this pattern.
The many
topics
discussed include : the Christian and politics, homosexuality,
the Church's attitude towards women, genetic engineering, "Faith
in the Fire", prayer, ecology and the "green" church,
Islam, liberal theology. Meetings commence at 8pm with a sharing
of concerns followed by a period of silence. Over an hour is
spent in discussion and then there is an opportunity for informal chatter
over a cup of tea or coffee with the final curfew soon after
10pm.
Anybody who would like to join should get in touch
