Prayer @ Bethesda

We pray a great deal at Bethesda! God hears all and reaches out to us to fulfil our needs and desires in ways which are in keeping with His kingdom (Romans 8:28).
It is on prayer that our faith is strengthened and through prayer that our sins can be forgiven. What's more, we can actually talk to our God through prayer and ask for things to happen in our lives and the world around, and it works!

Prayer is 90% of the iceberg that's underwater, even though you can't see,
it's holding the rest afloat!

Prayer at Bethesda
In addition to normal Sunday services and House groups, prayer opportunities at Bethesda include:

  • Wednesday 10.00 am Prayer & Communion Service

  • Our Prayer Chain has been going for many years; we try to pray daily for those whose needs are brought to our attention and a group of us meet together every two months to pray collectively.
  • Prayer Cards: We have recently introduced prayer cards on which adults and children can request special prayers. The cards are collected regularly, placed in the prayer bowl and brought forward with the collection plate and used or acknowledged during the intercession. In this way, we bring them to the foot of the cross, entrusting Jesus and God with our concerns and joys. Prayer cards will be available throughout the church.

  • Children & Young People: The Holy Spirit works through children too and this is something we are really keen to celebrate! Prayer is an important part of Junior Church and the Bethesda Youth Group and we encourage our young folk to contribute to the prayer bowl on a regular basis.

  • Prayer requests "online": Confidential prayer requests can be made via this website. Christians from Bethesda will gladly pray on your behalf.

Prayer can sometimes be a struggle in our busy lives, but I hope some of the following "catch phrases" will help when you yearn to sit in God's lap and be close to him. Many of these have come from the daily devotional guide The Upper Room (Foundery Press), some from Bethesda family and others from my daily walk in the world.

WHEREVER YOU'RE PLANTED, JUST BLOOM!

WALK INTO THE FUTURE EXPECTING GOD TO BE THERE…

PRAYER OPENS THE GATES OF HEAVEN & RELEASES GOD'S POWER.

NO-ONE IS ANY MORE IMPORTANT, NOR ANY LESS USEFUL.

YOU NEVER GET A "BUSY LINE" (ENGAGED TONE) WHEN YOU TALK TO GOD!

PRAY BEFORE YOU HONK YOUR HORN!

WHAT CHALLENGE WOULD YOU TACKLE TODAY IF YOU BELIEVED THAT ALL GOD'S RESOURCES WERE AVAILABLE TO YOU?

GOD STANDS BETWEEN US AND WHAT WE FEAR.

JESUS IS THE DOOR INTO LIFE IN ALL ITS FULLNESS.

THE LORD DRAWS EACH OF US ALONG OUR UNIQUE PATH TOWARDS WHOLENESS…

AMID THE NOISE OF OUR DAILY ROUTINE, OUR PRAYERS SOAR TO THE THRONE OF GOD, WHO HEARS & RESPONDS ALWAYS.

GOD CAN USE MY HAND TO LIFT SOMEONE WHO HAS FALLEN.

IN MY LIFE, WHERE IS GOD CALLING ME TO RISK & TO TRUST?

PRAYER IS A "HOTLINE" BETWEEN ME AND JESUS!

YES, IT'S ME AGAIN, LORD.

NEVER, EVER GIVE UP ON ANYONE - KEEP PRAYING!

Should you have prayers of a Local, National or Global concern which you would like to be made public, please also let us know.

The following form will post a prayer request to the
Prayer Coordinator

Unfortunately, it is not possible to reply individually to prayer requests, but rest assured, we do pray for your situation

Your Name:

Prayer Request:

| 1 Timothy 2 v1-4 |
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
